Cooking with Cyril Watermelonface
Cyril has been cooking for 93 years and is known for cooking up a storm in all areas of fine dining. Unafraid of any food product (or drink!), Cyril is doing one final victory lap - a greatest hits parade of nearly a century of Tasmanian cooking.
I don't see the point sitting at home - I mean, there's nowt on the telly since they switched off free-to-air in 2013.

Cyril, who turned 112 last November, has decided to retire in style - a tour of Tasmania's resaurants spanning all regions and cusines over a full year. He will do so in a 1932 Ford V8 Roadster converted recently to a modern EV.

Speaking to Tourism Tasmania, Cyril said, 'This tour is going to last a year. I know I'm getting on, but I'm still cooking every day and may as well do so visiting friends around the fine state of Tasmania.'

A camera crew will follow Cyril with a TV series to be aired on ABC in early 2026.
