Tourism Tasmania’s purpose is to connect travellers emotionally and culturally with our island, drive visitation and lead a sustainable visitor economy that delivers social, environmental and economic value for all Tasmanians. In leading and activating the state’s tourism brand, we deliver a range of marketing programs, campaigns and partnerships to generate awareness of Tasmania and demand for travel.  We welcome opportunities to partner with others who share our goal.

Tourism Tasmania’s Research and Insights team provides the tourism industry with a variety of traveller statistics and insights. Insights are sourced through Tourism Tasmania’s own research and partnerships.

Tourism Tasmania’s Industry Research and Insights Update provides a monthly summary of consumer, market, access and industry insights, providing a snapshot of the COVID-19 recovery scenario for Tasmania’s visitor economy. This report can be found in the Industry Recovery Portal

Quarterly reporting of TVS, NVS, IVS and accommodation measures are captured in our quarterly Tasmanian Tourism Snapshot. The latest report, and previous reports, can be accessed for free in the research section of this website.

Getting involved

You may have questions about the brand or would like to understand more about how to get involved with our work. Here are a few ways to do that.

  • Know our brand - Tasmania - Come Down For Airis the over-arching brand platform that underpins Tourism Tasmania’s destination marketing. To find out more about the brand and how to leverage it, see our brand <<LINK TO PAGE>>. 
  • Share your photos - Tourism Tasmania has an extensive collection of images and videos featuring Tasmania’s landscapes, tourism products and experiences. Images are available free of charge to the media and tourism industry for use in marketing Tasmania as a travel destination. You will need to register to browse Tourism Tasmania’s Visual Library. If you have great images of your tourism business, and you’re happy to share them for use and distribution though our Visual Library (subject to a copyright agreement), contact library@tourism.tas.gov.au
  • Join our production register - Professional photographers, videographers, content creators and writers can apply to join Tourism Tasmania’s production register. Engagement is on an as-needs basis, with no guaranteed minimum work. For application details, see Production Register <LINK TO PAGE>.

If you are a tourism industry operator - ensure your business is listed on the  Australian Tourism Data Warehouse and get involved with your local regional tourism organisation  <<<LINK TO RTO PAGE>>>>: We work with them closely and they are an important connection point with us.
