Marketing our Regions

Marketing our Regions

Tourism Tasmania promotes the voices and experiences of Tasmanians whose lives and businesses embody the qualities and uniqueness of Tasmania.

Regional tourism in Tasmania is based around four regional tourism organisations that cover the north-west and west coast, the southern region, the northern region and the east coast.

  • South, including Hobart, Central Highlands, Southern Midlands, Derwent Valley, Huon Valley, Kingborough, Sorell and the Tasman Peninsula.
  • North, including Launceston, Flinders Island, Meander Valley, West Tamar, Northern Midlands, George Town and Dorset.
  • East Coast, including Break O'Day - St Helens, Scamander, Glamorgan-Spring Bay, Swansea, Triabunna, Maria Island, Bicheno and Coles Bay.
  • North west and west coast - including Devonport, King Island, Circular Head, Waratah-Wynyard, Burnie, Central Coast, Kentish and Latrobe from the north west and Queenstown, Strahan, Zeehan and Rosebery in the west.

Tourism Tasmania works closely with Regional Tourism Organisations, or RTOs, via our Marketing our Regions initiative to showcase the many attractions, events, experiences and hospitality venues across our state.

Marketing our Regions embeds a regional focus across our entire marketing program through:

  • Greater industry visibility of marketing initiatives, channels and timings.
  • Proportionate regional representation across TTAS marketing program.
  • Promoting regional dispersal via app, events, road trips.
  • Highlighting regional experiences to Tourism Australia and Key Distribution Partners.

Acknowledgement of Country
We acknowledge the Tasmanian Aboriginal people and their enduring custodianship of lutruwita (Tasmania).
We honour the uninterrupted care, protection and belonging to these islands, skies and waterways, before the invasion and colonisation of European settlement.
As part of a tourism industry that welcomes visitors to these lands, we acknowledge our responsibility to represent to our visitors Tasmania’s deep and complex history, fully, respectfully and truthfully.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal people who continue to care for this country today.
We pay our respects to their elders, past and present.
We honour their stories, songs, art, and culture, and their aspirations for the future of their people and these lands.
